If you’ve been at my house late at night, it’s possible (likely?) that I’ve hazed you with baijiu, the chinese distilled spirit that usually tastes like industrial solvents.  I learned to like it - or tolerate it, maybe - in Hong Kong.  But apparently it’s making some kind of headway in the US, and here’s a nice article that’s both an interesting story and a kind of overview of the genre.
