New Baby!

A fun thing to have around the house: a newborn baby that’s not actually yours. I actually really love babies now, and for the next few weeks we get to help out with a newborn under our roof.

A family friend of ours is a single mom, and had a new baby on the way this winter. It’s hard enough to deal with the first month or so of newborn life with two adults in the house - even harder, I’m sure, to do it alone. So Erika invited her and the new baby to take our spare room for a few weeks. Erika helped out at the hospital as an unofficial doula, and now we’ve got a tiiiiinny baby girl at home, just for a while. I love this.
